No application yet, but I received word in the mail of this upcoming development and subsequently found some additional info via an internet search.

Providence, now a part of Unity Health (along with St. Mike's and St. Joe's ) is a major rehab hospital, hospice and long-term care facility in the east end, just west of Warden on St. Clair.

They are proposing to add an additional 180 beds, in a new building.

They are also proposing to have it open within 2 years according to the article above (rather ambitious); they have not yet filed any applications with the City.

SPA for this one has been submitted:

Comments. Such a needed facility. One cannot seriously object to anything about this building per se. Though, I must confess, there is real dearth of green around the building perimeter. I would love to see

just a bit less parking here, and some additional landscaping.

Overall, this campus has a very large amount of parking, all of it on the surface. i would not wish to burden it this one project w/the cost of underground parking, but it would strike me as immensely sensible to move in that direction over time.

* The parking to the north of the building will actually be interlock according to the landscape plan, and there will be two court yards for residents.

The parking was often very full when I regularly visited some years ago, and as such, one can't reasonably wish it away, but one might hope for for more of it to be out of sight, and in the process also free up room
for expanded facilities in the future.
