Toronto Parc Nuvo at Essex | ?m | 36s | Graziani + Corazza

I know the place is many times more hospitable then places like Vaughan.

Compounding all the urban sins hereabouts is how everything from Six Points to the 427 makes a rapist's hash out of that geological phenomenon known as the Lake Iroquois shoreline, along the south side of Dundas. (The condo dvp't in this thread's no exception.)

Project's final tower launched in Etobicoke

September 13, 2008

SPECIAL TO THE STAR

The launch of Parc Nuvo marks the fifth and final tower of Tridel's master-planned Essex community.

The 36-storey tower, at the corner of Dundas St. W. and Kipling Ave. in the heart of Etobicoke, is comprised of 302 suites and six two-storey townhomes unified by their environmentally friendly finishes and urban design.

"We tried to mimic a downtown theme in Etobicoke so you walk in and it will give you a sense of urban flair, as if you are walking into an upscale downtown hotel. The design is very clean and unique," says Winson Chan, regional sales manager with Tridel.

Featuring a shimmering blue glaze on the external facade, Chan calls Parc Nuvo west Toronto's "beautiful blue crystal."

The tower offers "hotel type amenities," Chan says, including a fitness centre, pool, sauna, whirlpool, party room, dining room, billiard room and games room.

"When you purchase a home from Tridel you are not just buying a home per se, you are also buying an entire brand new lifestyle with resort-like amenities," Chan says. "Even if you spend $250,000 you have the enjoyment of a $1-million home."

All units come with parking and a balcony. In addition, suites feature crown mouldings, imported stone, epicurean kitchens with designer cabinetry, granite or quartz countertops and minimum nine-foot ceilings.

Townhomes, all 1,300 square feet, are selling for $540,000. Suites range in size from 641 square feet to more than 2,800 square feet. One bedroom plus dens start at $250,000 and two-bedrooms start at $300,000. Signature collection units are offered from the 32nd floor up and start at $669,000. The penthouse suite, at more than 2,800 square feet, is selling for $1.5 million.

Parc Nuvo is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) candidate and is registered with the Canada Green Building Council.

"We have energy-efficient appliances, we use low VOC paint and carpet to eliminate off-gassing, high-pressured low-flow faucets, high-efficiency space air conditioning and energy recovery ventilation. Even in the water closets we have a dual-flush toilet to save on water usage," Chan says.

The tower, located across the street from Kipling subway station, is a 20-minute trip to downtown Toronto, Mississauga or the airport. It is steps from the soon-to-be-built Inter-Regional Transit Terminal that integrates TTC subway and buses, GO rail and buses, as well as Mississauga Transit bus service.

Construction is set to begin next summer with anticipated occupancy of spring 2011.

Maintenance fees are 44 cents per square foot and this excludes maintenance fees for parking and locker as well as hydro, water and so on.

Next Friday (Oct 24), Toronto's design review panel will review Tridel's landscape master plan for the public park component of its Parc Nuvo community. Sibylle von Knobloch of NAK Design Group and Roy Averill with the city’s parks development and infrastructure management group will make presentations.

Hey Tridelwebmaster, how are things looking for this one? It needs to go up soon. I'm tired of driving by and seeing no action!

is that next summer 2010 or coming this summer 2009?

The article was published in Sept. 2008, so "next summer" would mean the summer of 2009. In addition, with completion anticipated for spring 2011, you would want to be starting construction a bit sooner than summer 2010!

Equipment on site, finally. That bring the total to 5 of the number of new towers that have just begun construction in ECC within the last 2 months. Maybe there's hope for this suburb after all!

I was told 5 years ago that the last one would not be in place until late 2011. I would say 2012 now and too bad as I was hoping to see it all completed this year at the rate this project was being built.
