I talked today with people at DundeeKilmer about it while on a tour of the site. Yes, they are aware that people are tired of the monotone brick. When a theme develops on UrbanToronto, developers do see it. (Individual complaints may not have such traction, but when there is general agreement on something, it get seriously considered.)
Meanwhile, the existing buildings do have slashes of colour here and there, and will become more colourful as the retailers move in. That said, the developers are firming up plans on the next set of buildings that will go in post-Games, and are looking at adding more colour with them.
