I'm really glad they've kept the Don Bike Path open through all of this here and near the OSC (unlike the portion south of Pottery Road which has been ripped up and closed for YEARS now!!) but the machines need to be a little more careful rolling across the asphalt, the dozers are tearing it up with their treads.

Are there any before pictures for us to compare?

It saddens me to see the site so bare but such is the cost of building transit. And the consolation is that things will get start getting back to normal shortly after construction completion with the added bonus of much better transit access for tens of (hundreds of?) thousands!

^^^ 'The Ontario Line' so named for running from the Ontario Science Centre to Ontario Place will now run from Eglinton Crosstown to Therme.

This allows for a variation on a classic Canadian bit of verbiage, it can now be called the 'ET' line (pronounced 'Eh' in happy bilingual Canada).

The environmental impact assessment would suggest a large portion of the clear cut area is for sanitary sewer relocation, due to conflict with bridge pier placement. The diagram below shows the footprint of the staging and laydown area. Granted, the footprint may have been refined in detailed design.

@hawc, eventually vehicles should be entering the site directly from Beechwood, adjacent to the DVP. They will need to cross the bike trail though. When it comes time to clear and build on the north side of the river, a temporary bridge for construction vehicles will be laid over the river.

I just rode the trail adjacent the south portal (by Pape) and it has been repaved. It's in decent shape for now.

Views from the Don Valley Trail going north to south.

This is at the top of the short hill just south of the main clearing and just north of the TPS Canine division.

They've also repaved the trail from Beechwood to the main trail, presumably for construction access.
