... why is there so much soil testing being done on the right side of the bridge - when the OL bridge will be going on the left? .. is it possible there considering a realignment? Or .. is this incognito work for the rail line that is parallel to the DVP ?
I'd assume that there'd be drilling works on both side of the bridge. The OL bridge will have to cross the DVP (parallel and west of the Leaside Bridge).

Though it's odd - I'd have thought that boths sides - particularly the north side, would be very accessible from the service road that is an extension of Beechwood Drive. I can't imagine there's anything nefarious though ...
 
Who writes (and reviews) this? Beside “Days” it says to look at “What to expect”, yet no mention of any days there. How many people know that Millwood is known as the Leaside Bridge? Heck, the map says “Millwood Overpass Bridge”. Just say Millwood Road, which is actually signed on the DVP. And 150m north and 550m south is where the work will take place? Those red lines that indicate the work zone are the opposite on the map. Also, one lane closed southbound along the north curb east and west of Don Mills? Why not just say the right lane? And if the right lane is closed, does that mean the on/off ramps at Don Mills will be open or closed? Doesn’t say. But don’t worry, if there is any confusion or causes any delays/detours, it was approved by Toronto City Council (so you can’t blame Metrolinx)!

Ontario Line Enabling Works Continue

Work continues to progress on Ontario Line Enabling Works, as Metrolinx prepares for the future Ontario Line alignment. Crews have installed jersey barriers within Don Yard. Metrolinx’s contractor is performing continuous civil, track, signal and utility relocation works during the day and at night. These are key enabling construction activities for the future Ontario Line portal. Residents will be aware of excavators, vacuum truck, concrete trucks, boom trucks, dump trucks, track lighting and other machinery in the area.

They will check every square foot of soil, and they will conduct a survey of every bird to check in with their feelings, and will photograph every leaf and put those pictures in a scrapbook.

Meanwhile the suburbs keep growing.

Are they just reconnecting the Adelaide and Richmond tracks back to the network and filling the gaps? Or are they actually moving the rails/putting in new tracks?

Adelaide is getting completely rebuilt with new tracks. The existing tracks haven't been used in decades and are mostly covered over with asphalt and partially destroyed, they need full reconstruction.

Richmond Tracks are already in service and don't need any work.
