What the hell were they thinking of? An LED sign on this building would NOT have 'worked' and it is good Council refused it
 
How about a rotating sign above the turret?

Like this Birks sign on Vancouver's Vancouver Block (which was the last of a string of different signs removed in 1974)

Really hope there's some sort of restoration project by ERA soon for this, it looks noticeably neglected. Especially to remove those horrible antennas on the turret.
 
As far as I know there is no project in progress for this building at the moment. This is a very old thread that was resurrected because of the totally separate and recent proposal to add a billboard - which was fortunately rejected by the City. I think ERA are long gone from this building.
