This is right by Regents Park. The infill is needed as the block looks like towers in a park when viwed on Google Earth. I'm surprised at the height being requested.
 
Good to see different uses coming here. So many people live here, but the block suffers from the same ills as any tower in Etobicoke in terms of being designed for cars with a terrible public realm and none of the usual things you expect to find in a toronto neighbourhood.
 
Interesting. River st. is definitely going to see a transformation over the new few years.

I wonder where exactly they plan to construct the new building... I think it might be a bit too tall. I can't remember what the proposed height is for the regent park developments facing River; but I remember that they were reduced
 
There is more than one site on the property where they could fit another tower, so we will have to wait for the first report I suppose! No word in the application notice whether the residential here will be more rentals (as per all the other buildings on the property) or a condo.

The podium looks like it could be interesting but I'm not sure about the rest of the tower just based off the line drawings. Have we seen a residential design from Sweeny &Co before?

I have to agree, the building on this court are pretty bad. isn't one of them Toronto housing?
 
Not sure what has come of this proposal, but it'd be great if we saw an update. The Star has an expose about this property being TCHC's most problematic address (I thought that title went to 200 Wellesley?), but I didn't see any mention of this proposal in their articles. IMO Regent Park's redevelopment will only be truly successful once peripheral problem properties start being redeveloped as well.

Further south on River there's a few more highrise proposals which I haven't heard much about either. But it'll be interesting to watch downtown's eastern border Manhattanize as it creeps northward from the West Don Lands.
