I don't remember the Rosedale folks being upset about the height as much as they were offended that an apartment building was being proposed in what they believed to be an area with an "apartment ban" which is even more sinister than being freaked out about the height.

That stretch of Dale Ave pretty much consists of apartment buildings on its south side, and has been for decades - I never understood their objection. Perhaps they were upset there were no affordable units proposed in the project

See my post back in February 2019 (#57). The neighbourhood association explicitly objected to the four-storey height in its fundraising letters.

Maybe, but who can even recognize that neighbourhood given the heritage that was lost to build this 4 storey skyscraper?

I still don’t understand the neighbors’ opposition against this project. Perhaps they were concerned there was no affordable unit in it

It's still insane to me that the neighbours fought this so hard - it's turning out to be the nicest residential build the city has seen in the past 20 years. Fits so perfectly into its surroundings
