East Bayfront Development (EBF)
• On November 2, 2017, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) issued the Record of Site Condition (RSC) for the Bayside Phase II lands. This is a major milestone for Bayside as the RSC allows residential development on the Phase II parcels. (see map)
• Final Conditions related to the Bayside Phase II Subdivision Agreements were cleared and the Phase II Subdivision Agreement was registered on November 21. The Aquabella transaction is scheduled to close mid December 2017 and commence construction in the new year. A two-storey City-owned and operated child care centre will be located in the Aquabella building. Waterfront Toronto, our development partner Hines/Tridel, and City staff are currently finalizing the terms of the child care property transaction.
• The first residents of Bayside began moving into the Aqualina development, located next to Sherbourne Common, in September 2017. The second residential development, Aquavista, will be “topping off” on December 14, 2017.

This is probably some of the best looking glass I've seen being installed on a project in this city in the last 10-15 years. Simply outstanding stuff here.

With respect to some people commenting that the podium and the tower do not go together, I came across a presentation by Moshe Safdie of this project (waterfrontoronto.ca), there is a video clip. Surprisingly, both the podium and the tower were proposed to have cladding, the same as the podium has now. Originally they were exactly the same style, with what M.Safdie refers to as "gardens in the sky." The tower looked nothing like now, and like no other tower in Toronto. Somehow the design of the tower was changed completely, to look more like many glass towers, and cladding was eliminated completely remaining only on the podium. Would anyone know why they redesigned it? In my opinion it looked interesting in the original project. At least it was a completely different style from anything else.

Because Toronto is not about originality, it's about conformity! One developer puts up a grey spandrel tower and all the others follow.
