I respect trying to do something fun, but I think the food fritting is kinda tacky and would feel more obstructive to/distracting from the view from inside even if they were the same size as an otherwise plain frit. Also I think it wouldn't be as adaptable to different uses — in particular to places that aren't food places, but even if it was a food place the generic food icons might not really fit with what they served or the style of the place. A certain type of use of the space might not work with little cartoon food icons, so I think in this case it was probably for the best to go plain.
