Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

WT Board of Directors meeting materials are up for tomorrow's meeting.

The featured item of discussion is the Public Art Plan for Villiers and Keating West.

In respect of the above, there is a proposal for an 'Art Trail through the valley/river parklands.

I'm frankly not on board with this at it appears quite intrusive in a space that should be about nature first and foremost.

However, that ship would appear to have sailed.

Here's the big news on this one:

It's a shame that the pedestrian promenade won't extend over the Don River (as part of the new Lake Shore bridges). The abrupt bottleneck interrupts the otherwise fluid approach to the public realm Waterfront Toronto is working so effectively to create.

...whatever tomb they find down there, hope the workers are covered for any unintentional melt face mechanic when accidentally tripping off any ward placed on said tomb when moving it. >.<

More up on site.

The south Cherry St bridge is in its final location with some work taking place under protection for the north end. Back filling and grading can get under way in April to prepared the new road that is supposed to open in August this year and burying the old one.

Painting of the splice joint will happen once the warm weather is here.

As it stand as of Feb 28, I could make a left turn onto the Lake Shore going east off the Don Valley. Is this a change from not been able to do it or still to happen?

Traffic is now shifted as plan to the westbound lanes.

Just a couple, taken from the Waterfront Promenade, beside Aqualuna, on March 16th, 2022: (in this first shot, that is Aqualuna's crane sneaking into view)
