Does anyone know if this building is going to have retail on the ground floor? It looks like it could be a restaurant space, with sliding glass doors (for an elevated patio?) on the south/west side. Why was the western portion left unbuilt? Could that be for a sidewalk patio in the summer? That's the only thing that makes any sense. If not, why not build the structure right out to the sidewalk and have that great curve of the road as a design feature? (like a flat iron building) I would think either a patio or small public square would go here. (better yet, both!)
And yes, I agree, this is the best new building so far, although I wish the red brick went all the way up to the top.
