BIG designed a similar building (in Stockholm) but clad in wood.
I know with our climate and building codes this would not fly here, but it looks really nice.
I expect King's wooden cousin in Stockholm will be a maintenance nightmare in 20 years. Stained wood is great for exterior accenting, particularly if not exposed to direct sunlight, but not a good long term cladding solution.
July 11 - I did not see this when I went by yesterday, but it is there this morning. Looks like it might be cladding, but not sure if it is the external glass block - hard to tell from this angle.
July 11 - Afternoon. More indications of the King Toronto project starting to evolve from being primarily focused on the concrete forming work. New types of construction materials are arriving on the site, and work is taking place in different areas, including what appear to be some landscaping activities.
