Just a hunch, but reading further into the vegetation system, there'll be a series of cables running outside the building and I'm getting the impression that the defined lines between the blocks is where these cables will run along, leading to terraces with planters where the vines will emanate from. Maybe I'm seeing things but I think I'm seeing screw points.

There is one condo in Vancouver that had fantastic vines growing up trellises in the alley.
Then one day, I noticed they were all chopped down.
I suspect that rats or squirrels were using the vines to climb up the building.
Insects, too. Get ready for a spider invasion. Hornets and wasps won't be far behind.

I’m not sure ‘this building will look good once it’s completely obscured by vegetation’ is the ringing endorsement people think it is, but I’ll hope for the best. 😀
Some members don't like the look. Some like the look. This is all very premature talk during the construction process, and so typical for UrbanToronto construction threads to be exhaustingly boring. We always get members changing their tune when things are complete, as many seem to be unable to extrapolate a final product based on the clues we get as sections/stages are completed.

This building is trying things planting-wise that have not been attempted to such an extent here before. A lot of thought has gone into it, but we are still a couple of years away from seeing whether or not they are able to pull it off in whole or in part... while anyone knows that renderings of plants at any project are always presented in ideal conditions some several seasons of growth having passed. So, the sneering "ringing endorsement" comment is way too early to apply; at this point, with the building not near complete, there is nothing to ringingly endorse yet.

^I've always post about the progress of something I like or don't like knowing I could be wrong when all is said and done. I hope the admin are okay with that approach.

This is already showing its spectacular impact. I foresee many a 'stop and stare' moments for locals n=and tourists alike. I can't wait!
