This post feels like it should be an @AlbertC post, since it's a small, almost hidden project!

But since CBC Toronto elected to report on it here:


I thought it deserved a thread.

This is a Hindu temple in the west end, on a side street, in a converted Christian church.

It's apparently been a long standing desire of the congregants to alter it to appear like a more traditional temple.

In addition to the exterior work, a new prayer room and an elevator to improve accessibility are also included in the 1.5M renovation.
 
Either way, it will certainly stand out when that reno job is done...goodness.
 
As a Hindu, I actually don't really like the trend of having only one style of temple and just replicating it everywhere. Many of the Hindu temples in the GTA are similar look, and they all use the same materials, etc. Churches have the same elements...but they use different materials, colours, etc.
