Photos: Drilling rig begins the task of preparing the holes for i-beams and cement is poured to secure them. I thought the cement was used to fill the holes, much like securing a fence post. However, as will be shown later, that is not the case.

The bobcat ensures that a supply of beams are readily available.

Excavation begins and boards are dropped between the beams to shore up the walls. (Sept thru Nov 2019)

From Nov 2019 thru Jan 2020 the boards are wrapped in a protective orange tarp, and the crane is erected. It takes just under 4 mins for the operator to descend at the end of the day.

BY June and July 2020 there has been much progress on the walls and the floor of the underground level. Staircase has been installed to allow the crew to get up to ground level.

The project reached ground level by August 2020 and the first above ground level begins to take shape by December 2020.

Some of the walls for the first and second level apartments begin to appear in Feb thru April of 2021, and a lot more construction material is on site.

Some close-up shots (June 2021) of the crane delivering a bucket of cement to the crew, and they skillfully pour it into the wooden framing to create the walls of each apartment unit. The floor and walls for level 3 is taking shape.

Progress as of June 2021. It is amazing to see how many loads of cement have been delivered to the project.

So here we are at the end of year 4 (since the initial ground breaking) and above ground level 6 is beginning to emerge (Sept 2021).

The rendering doesn't make it look that bad for an infill suburban condo project. But if you have to say you're the highlight of Mississauga, you probably aren't.
