Very cool pic. You can see how the Toronto Harbour Building actually used to be on the harbour. And old Union Station... man, that's a shame we lost that one. Would be cool to have a chance to walk these old streets to see what the old Toronto was like. Like I've said before, the new financial district should have been built beside the old one, not on top of it (like Montreal). We would have an 'old Toronto' district which we don't really have now.

Was the Toronto Harbour Building ever moved? Trying to picture the ACC in the land between but there doesn't seem to be enough room for it there.

note to self - don't do 88mph in the delorean on harbour street!

Priceless archival footage- a real artifact for the city. Thanks for posting that.

Re: 1960s

The TD Towers are very 2001 in these photos before the rest of the MINT towers started to rise.

Re: 1960s

Great pic!
Also shows what may have been if the railways had kept the tracks at grade instead of elevated @ Union Station.

details

Great photo. Interesting that even back then there was a parking lot beside the Royal Alex.

What's with the roof of Queen's Park?

Re: details

Not oxidized yet? might have been really shiny then.

Plus wasn't most of the old financial district destroyed in a fire?

Re: details

a lot has change in 40 years, let alone nearly 90
