At the most recent TRCA Board of Directors Meeting on October 25, the board considered a report outlining the areas of greatest flooding vulnerability, and what/if any TRCA or other partner processes are underway to address those.

Report Here:

There are detailed attachments which show the score-ranking of each area, in respect of what form that vulnerability takes.

Of note, the top 2 risk areas are both in the City of Toronto, and both along Black Creek.

The first is the Rockcliffe area, roughly Jane/Alliance and the second is Jane/Wilson.

The former is deeply complicated by the bizarre way the creek was routed through a deep, open, concrete trench in the middle of 2 roads; the latter, has the creek near-grade in a concrete-lined channel with virtually no natural space around it.

In the case of Jane/Wilson, I think land aquistion and redevelopment of adjacent sites will reveal viable solutions; I'm not at all sure of how Rockcliffe might be addressed.
