Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

The defining moment will be when the cladding goes up here. We will either collectively swoon over or scream in terror depending on the actual quality of what they're promising to put up...

Edit/Update: So far it seems to be a collective swoon, see below!

We'll be talking about The One, Pinnacle One Yonge, and Forma, with architects involved with each! 11 AM through 12:.30 PM.

We had a great time today at the Buildings Show panel as per above, with Abel Gill of Adamson Associates Architects going deep into the details of the design evolution here... including the evolution of the cladding panels. While I am not able to share here the images of the folded stainless steel cladding panels that are going to cover Forma, trust when I say that this building is going to be very, very sexy. Like, you may need to close your bedroom door sexy. Like more than once.

Anyway, this presentation, along with those for The One and Pinnacle One Yonge, were all really interesting, so we are hoping to be able to present these as one of our 2025 webinars for you to enjoy in the privacy of your viewing suite. We'll let everyone know once it's all worked out. Cheers!

Gehry Partners were fine with the images being presented at the live event, but for whatever reason don't want certain ones published. I'm not sure which particular ones —the cladding mockup shots we hadn't seen before? building schematics? — and I'm not sure why. I was just happy that they were presenting something new. I'm not sure if they'll have any restrictions for an online version... we'll see. In any case, I just want more people to get the benefit of all the work that was put into the presentations, and yeah, sure I want to hype it up a bit, I was impressed and I'm sure others will be too!

A couple of old fashion screenshots from the very interesting but way too short presentations on Friday.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that Gehry and his team weren't willing to budge on high quality material choices, especially after having to scale back the original design so much. Really hope we can get another authentic Gehry tower somewhere in the city before it's too late

He's almost 96, this is what we're getting. Good to see the facade is actually metal rather that glass
