No idea.

You may not be wrong, but I was just pointing out that they've been operating all through the RSD so it'd be strange for them to claim a safety concern now given they didn't immediately pull all of their members after the accident.

The union is not the cause of any delay at this point. Drivers have been training for a year. I doubt the union would want to step in the crosshairs for a delay when the TTC and Metrolinx have both signed off that Line 5 is good to go.

So once testing is done? What's the next thing that has to happen before it opens? Is it another few months of something? Or does it just open? Could it actually open in 2025?

Minister of Transportation basically said they're handing it over to the TTC within 2 weeks and they could open anytime after that. Essentially throwing it into the TTC's court to open before year's end so they can finally wash their hands of this...."ask the TTC - we handed it over to them."

TTC has to deal with the union.

My opinion: the union (i.e. representing the future operators) wants to know what happened in the yard accident/collision. Metrolinx/Crosslinx isn't saying because the line hasn't been handed over to TTC yet, so they figure tey need not (or are contractually bound not to) share the details.

In the years that passed since the original training, they probably need to replace the retirees - and those who have died from old age.
