I maybe wrong, but I was told the reason why the north end of the existing building is still standing is the hydro connection has yet to be removed from it.
I find that hard to believe, as I have yet to see a building not totally disconnected before being raze before now.

They finally tore the rest of the building down at the north end. Only the east side need caissons.

Agreed. They really should have left space for some retail on the lower level.
Bohemian on the Queen side will have some retail space which is good.

From my understanding:
Edge1 (west tower) is 14 storeys, highest floor is 17 (skips 4, 13, 14)
Edge2 (east tower) is 18 storeys, highest floor is 21 (skips 4, 13, 14) - above rendering was not updated to show this
Urbancorp has plans to increase height of Edge2 to 21 storeys, new release of units for sale to start in Spring 2012, not sure if these 3 additional floors have been approved by the City of not though
