This should be a lesson learnt by the city in terms of historical preservation (just like at Tableau)- accept nothing less than a 100% accurate recreation or better yet- the in-situ preservation of facades.

Do not accept 'interpretations' as these are common excuses to simplify old designs.
 
On top of that, it's also a terrible building. /sigh

Wow that's awful. I suppose we now have to be exposed to this eye sore for another 80 years before it gets re-developed.

Heritage restoration is messy. The colours, the set back and the new building takes no design cues from the heritage building.
Looks like 2 separate buildings stuck together with no thoughts

Whoever had the gaul to write that should resign in disgrace. It would be the moral thing to do in the face of propagating hyperbolic untruths of such a staggering magnitude.
