Toronto Crosstown LRT: Caledonia Station | 11.72m | 2s | Metrolinx | McCallum Sather

Big update on the Caledonia GO station... oh wait I was thinking of one of the prior announcements in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020, 2021... anyways they are definitely starting on the Caledonia GO Station. The only remaining things to do are to figure out who will build it with what money, when and who will look after the Eglinton bridge replacement, who will lower the grade for electrification, plus a final decision on 2 or 3 tracks, and construction and commissioning of course. But they have been working on it since 2013... so how much longer can it be right? I'm sure they are almost done.

Base on the locations of the entrance and exit for the bus terminal, the current locations for east/west traffic lights will have to be move to either side of them to allow buses in/out or having extra lights.

These look terrifically fun to me, I just wish that the piece above the end of the platform spanned the entire width of the space. Scale people! Appropriate scale!!!

A Caledonia GO update from a recent Metrolinx blog post:

Toronto’s Caledonia GO Station will be directly integrated with connections to the Eglinton Crosstown LRT and will have amenities including heated platform shelters, bicycle parking, and complete accessibility enhancements.

Caledonia GO is now in its detailed design phase, with construction expected to start in mid-2023.
