I just worry about the breadth of the thing being a major eyesore. It was already wide from the east/west view to begin with, but then, as I recall, more units were added without increasing the height.

this part of downtown is a write off for me in terms of aesthetics. its a disaster. mainly due to Canderel with Aura and YC. the one two ugly punch right in the middle of the city.

I am less worried how wide it looks...and more worried how ugly this will end up looking with the current lower common denominator developer at the helm.

I actually think this one will look fine if they use a nice tinted / reflective glass and spandrel on the curtain wall sections. It’ll all really come down to selection of finishes. FWIW I think when all is said and done, this and 8 Elm will negate (not undo) some of the damage done by the Canderel buildings in the area with their better materials and restored heritage facades.

But as other members have pointed out, this building seems like it’ll be pretty awful to live in.

I love Rockefeller as well its for sure a top 10 for me, I moreso meant how it stood out like a sore thumb on the NYC skyline when it was completeted, mostly due to the buildings sheer girth compared to the skinnier highrises of the time, I think it'll be similar with this building where on its own it's very nice. But it's gonna stick out alot, Rockefeller looks far better than this imo, if you thought i was comparing the two lol

Yonge desperately needs a rethink through here as well. Really, it should be pedestrianized as much as possible.

One lane each way will be retained in order to service shuttle buses and night buses.

The curb lanes will be removed for wider sidewalks and streetscaping.

The residual space between the curbs will be partially restricted during the day, varying by block.

Detailed design is underway and will determine paving treatment.

Yeah I can't remember which one it was but I remember about 3 months ago there being a picture I think it was nabu that all you can see in the one window was the air duct
