It's too out of the way for a high street dead ending against the Don Valley. Access to the Distillery District isn't through this community. A subway would only help if the closest station to the Distillery was at River and Front.

The King Streetcar transitway, or whatever it's going to be called, would also help, if it ever comes to fruition.

The preferred location for the Relief Line station in this area is just a block north. While the main entrance will be at King and Cherry, the secondary entrance is planned for Eastern Avenue at Rolling Mills Road. If built as proposed, the Canary District will be more accessible to the rest of the city than Distillery District (which seems to do okay) …and access to the Distillery District for many people will be via this area.

Definitely not charcoal grey this time over - white/gold plus dichroic film glass along Front. No balcony thermal break.

Brick screens are a blast from the past! Like GPAIA's 180 Sackville for TCHC in Regent Park, there's some retro funk going on here.

Site cleared and ready for shoring(?). Or is this going to be without underground parking like River City?

Just checked design review panel presentation from July: 2 levels of underground parking. So unfortunately it will be a while until we start to see this one take shape.
