Brampton Transit broke ground on the third MSF today. It is expected to be done in late 2027. I believe maximum capacity for buses has been forecasted for 2026, so we may see BT make a big push on 2026 24/7 service in order to make space for all the buses.

^ Surprised I didn't see any social media coverage on it yet, or there wasn't a big ceremony with a lot of politicians. Didn't it get funding from the Province/Feds as well?

I'm really happy to see Brampton getting the love it deserves with better route planning, new buses, refurbishment of existing buses, new facilities, new routes... It makes me happy to live in the city, even if I don't travel on the bus all that often. It's not about me, it's about everyone who uses transit to get around. These new facilities play such an important role in transportation for the city, so it's great to see them finally breaking ground on it.

The Johnston family who are the farmers directly next to the MSF, they have been farming in Brampton for around 200 years and the MSF is on land bought from them.

Cadetta Johnson has broke ground on $282M facility for 250 buses in two phases, it will be third transit facility in Brampton and it will be open in 2027. Developed by City of Brampton, Government of Ontario, and Government of Canada. Located on Highway 50 and Cadetta Road in Brampton’s Coleraine neighbourhood and behind right on Vaughan border.

To quote BT (via Sylvia) We typically will use more neutral simplistic language when communicating service changes to the public. As you can appreciate, we are communicating to a broad group of residents and one of the main purposes is to make sure residents know that there is a change.
