I still don't understand why there are townhomes fronting along the middle section of that main street.
The city likes low rise on main streets with a max height of 4s.

I opposed this development in more ways now starting with the street edge.

You got the the group on either side of this project wanting the edge to be the same as theirs. The east side is ripe for redevelopment and happen to know a few of these folks. They live in the past like a good chuck of Port Credit who don't want towers over 10s. They aren't willing to give up on street parking in place of parking structures above or below ground.

Been part of the planning of the land as well other locations and what was proposed is now going south more ways than enough. Plans for the water edge have disappear. I don't support tall towers here even though I have said that a nice 100s tower at Hurontario and Lakeshore would be a beacon for Hazel City when she was in office.

The biggest problem for Mississauga and Port Credit is the lack of a 2nd e-w road south of the QEW from end to end. This development along with the other 2 on the waterfront is only going to add to the traffic congestion from Mississauga Rd to Cawthra. It becomes a bitch when there are issues on the QEW that it becomes gridlock. from end to end. 60% of traffic is passing through Mississauga on the Lakeshore.

Agreed: Mississauga really needs to connect another street across the Credit, and I'd suggest a complete re-building of Queen Street from Rosewood (east of Hurontario) past the GO station to Mississauga Road at Front Street. They have few options, especially ones with minimal disruption, and this one makes the most sense to me.

I have to say, Lakeview Village looks like a much better conceived development. It will be a 20 minute walk to Port Credit GO, or about a 5 minute bike ride. It is communities like this that show why we need to make it really appealing to cycle to transit.

Might need to add peak-hour HOV lanes to Lakeshore at some point

Mod's note Address "70 Mississauga Rd S"

Major roads are in place leading to Lakeshore and Mississauga Rd. More up on site and a wasted view with low rise plan for Lakeshore

sigh. these pictures make me sad.

Meanwhile, zero construction in the surrounding area to help mitigate the onslaught of increased traffic.

The hope is that most people will use the GO Train to go to Toronto or use the LRT to go to MCC, and vice versa. Plus, it's a destination onto itself, a short walk to Port Credit village, biking distance to Lakeview and Clarkson, and it's connected to the waterfront and waterfront trail.

I may buy a condo there but don't worry, I work from home so there will be one less car on the road.

I liked it when they used to grow massive waterfront marshmallows.

Doubt it. Anytime there's been development in the PC area, traffic levels seem to increase. This is something developers tout to try to ease concerns about traffic and to get the necessary approvals. In reality, it's not happening. People like the convenience of cars.

Plus this location is hella far from the GO. They keep marketing it as if it's an easy hop, skip, and a jump. It's at least a 15-20 minute walk. People are lazy. The idea of the developer running a "shuttle" is ludicrous.
