I'm pretty sure that 'conceptual' open space shown on the south side of Adelaide between Widmer and John was nothing more than a 'concept' .... and as it stands now it is certainly not going to happen with the proposed & actively digging developments on those lands, being Pinnacle on Adelaide and Cinema Condos
 
hmmm, so I'm wondering what park is getting the $200000. Do you think there might still be a chance that at street level a small portion of the Cinema site may be left for public space?
 
Judging from the renderings of these two projects, I doubt there will be a promenade / open space along the Adelaide frontage:

Solaris, I would have thought you would have checked the staff reports for Cinema and Pinnacle

Pinnacle on Adelaide - 295 Adelaide, 100-104 John

Cinema Tower - 299 Adelaide, 21-31 Widmer

It appears that the promenade would be where the laneway is between 295 and 299 Adelaide. The laneway is City land, and as such the S.37 money will be allocated here, I believe.
 
thanks marcus_a_j ... but I don't think the 'laneway' running north-south between the 2 properties could be considered as the Adelaide promenade (as mentioned in Atlantis' earlier post) ... based on the Site Plans for these 2 projects I see no significant open space provided along the Adelaide frontage other than a sidewalk with some trees

If you take a look at the map on p 12 and 28 of this pdf, you can make out a small park on the north side of the TIFF block right on Adelaide. Page 16 shows what they're calling the 'Adelaide Promenade'. Does anyone have any updated info on this proposed park? This plan looks very conceptual.
 
True, that parkette in the ED plan is really small. The full NRU article from last Friday doesn't say exactly where it will go within the TIFF block. The parkette and the laneway are both speculation. It could be either of those places or somewhere completely different
 
Could it go towards general streetscape improvements? Adelaide could really use some trees.

I'm gonna take credit for this unveiling...:D At 4AM today I asked lifetime if a recently registered domain 290adelaide.com was the intended site. Now I wake up to another mystery...The Bond!
