Toronto Bloor-Lansdowne GO Station | 6.77m | 1s | Metrolinx | Brown + Storey

I was there. The waste and recycling requirements was about a zoning requirement that waste areas need to be fully enclosed. They will be building a partially enclosed area. For the bike parking, they are using a standard Metrolinx design that doesn't meet the dimensional requirements per bicycle in the zoning bylaw, i.e., denser than the city usually requires. I asked about this because it sounded extremely tight and a Metrolinx rep said it's because they use stacking hardware. This is what we're getting:

That's good, no? More bike parking, less space. I wonder what they mean by secure bike storage though. I wonder if you would you have to pay to get in and use it.

I received this by mail today as I live nearby. Image taken 20 May.

The article and video both fail to mention the proposed pedestrian/multi-use bridge across Bloor St, as shown in earlier renderings, that was supposed to provide easier access to the Lansdowne TTC entrance via Wade Ave.

I am pretty sure the only photo in the article and in the post above shows the bridge right in it, no?

That's from the rendering they purposefully note as "subject to change". Along with the bridge not being shown in the map in the video,

it's then also not mentioned when it goes over the different parts of the station that are being built. And I certainly see no sign of it getting built yet when I walk past it under the railway bridge.
I don't know any more than anyone else, but it made me suspicious that the multi-use bridge might be something that was included in the initial proposal and renderings to make it look and sound better, then put into the "maybe we'll get to it later" file when the actual construction happens.

The multi-use path, while integrated into the station here, is being delivered separately. I'm not sure what has been included in the $234M budget [utter insanity] for this thing and for that number I do hope the base infrastructure delivery would include the bridge, but I'm just not sure. Maybe @Northern Light has more detail?

This multi-use path bridge is mentioned in one of the Metrolinx board meeting documents released this week.

Construction on the new station project at Bloor-Lansdowne progressed with ongoing shoring and excavation work this quarter. This will prepare the site for construction of a new station building, east platform, and multi-use path bridge. In August, the design plans were published, offering the public a preview of the new station and amenities for customers.
