I was by this morning. With tomorrow being the shortest day of the year, it was dark out despite not being so early:
As you can see, there were a lot of dump trucks lined up and some new equipment being unloaded. Although I did not see a scoop, I think it must have been an excavator on the flatbed - to help fill up all the dump trucks. I am not sure if they are just carting away construction debris, or about to start digging down. Regardless, it seems like things are about to enter a new stage here

I did not do my normal encircling of the site, but the last remnants of the cinema, as well as the scaffolding and hoarding erected in front of it, are now gone. Taken today:

While the shoring rig remains on site, shoring and leveling appears to be complete, and this morning the site was full of workers and machinery furiously excavating.

Did I ever have it wrong when I suspected shoring was pretty much done. Lots of shoring going on these last few weeks, as confirmed by @interchange42.
I hadn't seen his update when I took these shots yesterday, and there's not much different, but since I took 'em, may as well post 'em:
