lol. Southcore tower 2 might just be the worst because it doesn't have height going for it. Nothing about that building does it for me.

Hah! funny meme. Agreed on southcore. Its a refined building in one sense but its also completely uninspiring because of its stout and blocky dimensions not to mention the repetition of materials.

Not sure what they were trying to do with the podium here, especially since its height doesn't match up with the heritage components next door. Drawings and elevations are the source of my concern, so I guess I'll have to wait and see how it's experienced from ground level. I just wish it didn't end so abruptly against the heritage component and seem to have its own height that takes no cue from any of the surrounding buildings. It's too short to appear part of the tower or a true "entry" to the Bay-Adelaide Centre complex, nor is it iconic in any way that it stands on its own apart from the tower. It looks strangely tacked-on.

It does look a bit abrupt, but hopefully that ghost facade thing they've been talking about will serve as a bit of a transition between the old and new. I'm hoping it's also topped along Yonge. At least then the step between the mechanical building and the new office floors won't seem totally out of whack

I dont know if anyone else is watching the live cam, but they have installed two large pipes on the top floor that i dont remember being installed on other floors. Could this be a mechanical floor?

Those are supports for the crane. There are a multiple of those every few floors.
