It can be done! One material the whole way up! Look how coherent it is overall, despite the overdone irregular window placement. I'm also ignoring the random all glass corner; not sure what's going on there.

I could have sworn it was the early 90's when Dominion closed, but anyway, maybe the space sat empty until 1994?Had to satisfy my curious case of Toronto retail history trivia here, but according to this webpage that No Frills at 243 Alberta Avenue was previously a Dominion supermarket that closed in the mid-1980s. Which was later sold and became a No Frills after:
