Nice tower. I like it. It's a shame that 2/3 of the tower are studio apartments. Would be better to get some more 1, 2 bedroom units.
I'm putting you in charge of getting young people interested in forming couples, and older people interested in not divorcing.
You're also tasked with raising the Canadian standard of living.
Then there'll be much more of a market for apartments suitable for more than one person.
Best of luck!

There's not much of a market for studios/investor boxes right now; the market for 1 and 2bdrms is actually better. (if still terrible on the condo side).

The issue is not people coupling or divorcing. Most single people would take a 2 bdrm, if they could afford it; whether that's used as a spare for company or a home office.

The issue is the mismatch of price per ft2 to median household income.

The current ratio is way out of line with historic norms.

Part of that is over pricing in the market, for a host of reasons (land costs, DCs, excessive construction labour costs, and bloated margins)....the other portion, frankly the larger portion is stagnating incomes.

Now, let's not burden this thread w/that conversation unduly, as this subject has seen extensive conversation in the political threads, the zoning reform threads, and others.

Bottom line, the solutions are actually quite straight forward, its up to government (s) to tackle them.
