Nice to see this and Five really respect the history of the street.

That said, I have to imagine this corner will be redeveloped with a high-rise very soon.
 
That Coronet sign is fantastic. Love that look. Wonder what happened to it.

Going back even further to 1955 (on the right). I used to go here sometimes to watch movies after the porn policy was dropped. It was somewhat rundown inside though not as bad as the Rio. After the notorious "BFG's" raided the place around and trashed it during a Rocky Horror screening around 1979/1980 seats were moved from the balcony and repaired on the main floor, and the balcony never opened again. It finally closed as a movie cinema about 1983.

I agree Lenser, love it! I love seeing the historic buildings come to life again, but I would also love to see some of Yonge's glitzy era brought back to life too. Can't wait to see the Sam signs up and twinkling agin.
