The OMB hearing was triggered by the proponent appealing a Committee of Adjustment decision which did not go their way. The Commercial Realty Group (CRG per the thread title) did not go through the zoning amendment process, instead hoping to get the changes they needed via the simple CoA process. The CoA did not agree that, however, that CRG's changes were minor, so beyond their ability to approve. On October 26, the OMB will consider that question, with the City there to underline their case that the changes are not minor.

The City and the developer continued to negotiate in advance of the hearing, and worked out their differences, which the Board described as "technical in nature" in their decision of December 1, allowing the three-storey addition to go ahead.

In the meantime, the developer applied for Site Plan Approval in November. The fault-like lines of the window treatment are gone from the design, replaced with a the, um, Mondrian-like grid below:

The specs list includes no back-painted spandrel panels; the varying blues come from differing tints applied to the glass.

Got cheapened a little but no spandrel sells it for me. The mechanical pent is bit disappointing though.
