Location
Ward 13 - Toronto Centre
This is a new highrise tower connected to an older 11 floor slab apartment building just east of Downtown Brampton. Nothing special, architecture appears mediocre (but not terrible).

The only things that make this interesting is that this is an urban intensifcation project, using an old surface parking lot for a new highrise, in a suburban location, and that the city is giving the go ahead. The older building, which was converted from rental to condominium a decade ago, will also be renovated and incorporated into the new structure.

Not great but it sure beats much of the crap that has been foisted on Brampton in the past.

For reference, I'm referring to 'crap' like this (Renaissance Condos):

The city of Brampton is very keen/eager for intensification projects like this. Particular in close vicinty to the DT and Queen Street (whch this is). They are also, in suburban/905 terms, investing a great deal into their transit system and this is a very short walk to the Zum line that runs on Queen and the Queen/Kennedy intersection is quite transit rich. This location is a 3 minute walk followed by a 3 minute bus ride to a GO station. In short, without using a car, this location is about 50 minutes from Union Stn. (as long as you can manage your life according to those schedules).

There is another proposal on Queen just west of there ('bout half way between Kennedy and Centre) for a new condo on a commercial podium.

Brampton would love more of these and they can't quite figure out how the market has passed them by....in fact right along Queen to the east of this site there are several former car lots sitting empty that the city would easily approve density on.....if someone would ask them too.
