Still waiting for OLT approval before construction could start
Corn aren't NIMBYs, is the short answer to that. It's so wild to see 30 storey condos being built next to a cornfield, while something like this would be kiboshed if built in the denser Downtown Oakville or Bronte Village areas.

The one thing similar to a NIMBY meeting and a farm field? Lots of vegetables.
But muh NeIgHbOuRhOoD cHaRaCtEr!Corn aren't NIMBYs, is the short answer to that.
What do NIMBYs and cornfields have in common? The one thing similar to a NIMBY meeting and a farm field? Lots of vegetables.
Agreed on both points. Not in my cornfield. But it is unfortunate we keep giving up farmland for subdivisions.
Are the purple rectangles to represent retail? I am concerned about the dense residential without any retail and service within walkable distance. This seems to be common in new developments in the north of Oakville …
Also might as well throw in there that that cornfield, which isn't actually in use anymore, doesn't have long to live before it's all developed too. 3064 Trafalgar (which is officially referred to as 3060 Trafalgar) is in the bottom centre

Yes, and it's just to show that retail will be there, there will likely (hopefully) be more than is shown there. Unfortunately because of the design of the original Uptown Core area, which was done before walkable communities became the ideal, it's essentially a bunch of residential buildings around a Walmart Supercentre parking lot and strip malls. Hopefully that will change in the near future. Are the purple rectangles to represent retail? I am concerned about the dense residential without any retail and service within walkable distance.
