...would of been an excellent place to stick that Therme snake oil spa instead?
Correct. It was stupid to begin with and it's even dumber to try and keep resuscitated.Right, because everybody knows there is no demand for film space. Which would suggest that the entire premise of the plan for this area is bogus.
No?
Throw some cots down in the den, halve up the bedrooms with blankets and get four students paying $1100 a month each in your typical 2 bed and I'm sure someone will find a way to make a buck on this. At 15 minutes to the George Brown Waterfront campus and 30 minutes to TMU/UofT tenants won't be in short supply. Far from ideal (or in compliance with fire code) but the likely situation. This is nice and all, but I'm at a loss as to who is going to pony up to live (or rent out) here? Low end, they're going to need $1400 to cover costs (BTW, this is a paper app, nothing more. I'm just speculating on all the proposals coming to this area), so they're expecting folks to pony up pretty serious money to live in a completely disconnected former industrial zone with 10-20 years of neighborhood and infrastructure work to go? To me there's *0* value proposition there.
