Forget New York City, our city is truly deserving of a quirky giant pigeon statue somewhere. We do have a raccoon park now but it's in a pretty obscure location.

We have a white squirrel statue too. I wish Toronto would have more quirky stuff like that.

The former patio area, for the long abandoned swimming pool in the original Community Centre here.

The brown plates on the left were once windows adjacent to the pool area.

It was never particularly pretty, but when in operation it did have some planting beds and seating.

That community centre was closed sometime in the 90s I'm thinking.......when the current Main Square Recreation Centre opened next to the GO Station.

Huh, quite the odd setup. Wonder what these places would have looked like when they were the new, trendy buildings. Saw some old advertisements for the towers in St. James Town once and looked like something straight out of Mad Men

St. Jamestown was middle-income, young single/young family when it was first opening............but its best days, probably only lasted a decade.

The complex had a very large outdoor pool as a tenant amenity.........which has been closed for.............14 years now (it was shuttered in 2010)

This is a winter-time aerial shot of the pool from 2005. The pool was still operating in the summer back then. Hard to find a good pic of it in operation.
