They do have a pretty extensive and long standing point system (Thank You Points) of their own that is pretty well used. . My guess is the leadership team at Longo's had invested so much into that program over the decades (apps etc) that there was little desire to make the switch over and alienate their current clientele who have been collecting for years.It's weird that Longo's doesn't use Scene+ Points as their points/rewards partner despite being an Empire grocer (and Empire partly owning Scene). This could be a deterrent to current Sobeys customers from making the switch.
As I pretty much said, and its official. It was the last day for the Sobeys at Kipling and Queensway yesterday.Not confirmed, but it's pretty much spelled out.
Having 2 major grocers owned by the same company, targeting virtually similar market demographics, within a ~400m radius of each other makes virtually no sense.
