It's weird that Longo's doesn't use Scene+ Points as their points/rewards partner despite being an Empire grocer (and Empire partly owning Scene). This could be a deterrent to current Sobeys customers from making the switch.

They do have a pretty extensive and long standing point system (Thank You Points) of their own that is pretty well used. . My guess is the leadership team at Longo's had invested so much into that program over the decades (apps etc) that there was little desire to make the switch over and alienate their current clientele who have been collecting for years.

I'm more impressed that Farm Boy hasn't brought in Scene as they have no points system and Sobey's has a larger share in ownership than they do in Longos.

Overall I think Empire wants to keep their main brands (and Scene+) separate from the other entities

Not confirmed, but it's pretty much spelled out.

Having 2 major grocers owned by the same company, targeting virtually similar market demographics, within a ~400m radius of each other makes virtually no sense.
As I pretty much said, and its official. It was the last day for the Sobeys at Kipling and Queensway yesterday.

Ill miss the childhood memories of this store:
