Toronto 1012 Gerrard Street East | 44.06m | 12s | Pymbo | RAW Design

I know a bar owner on the Danforth who grew up on Marjory Street. He said it was a pretty hardscrabble area back in the 60s and 70s. It's that tiny street living in the hulking shadow of Gerrard Square. What was there before Gerrard Square, I wonder? Will the esteeemed historians of UT step up and enlighten a guy?
Gerrard Square Mall opens in 1975. Before that it was industrial / manufacturing:

RIP Pho Com Tam 168, your grilled pork vermicelli is top notch.

Glad that this project contributes some decent residential density and will provide some commercial space at grade.

Interesting find PE.

The industrial was next to the railway and had a spur. It didn't quite reach Gerrard, which appears to have had a mix of houses and then some commercial closer to Pape.

I'm curious about what was there, but haven't found any good images just yet.
