I actually had the chance to play around with a handcar once in the abandoned rail yard at Palmerston, where a couple of tracks were saved in a town that used to have rails coming in from five directions. Of course rails now come in from zero directions.

Does Palmerston still have that high-level ped bridge?

imagine they turned the highline in NYC into a railbike path! it could be a mini theme park thing.

At last check, yes it does. Between the three remaining yard tracks, the station and the bridge, it has done a lot better than most former railway towns.
