Pics of mine from last week. My friends and I agreed that this project is fantastic and feels organic, definitely light years ahead of projects you see in Montreal. We did not have the most time to explore every single aspect of the project, but it's something I've been following since it was first announced. Definitely will check it out further once I'm back in Toronto, hopefully soon.

Think you folks would like this video which shows the change across the city in the last 15 years. Had to put The Well as the thumbnail!

My density changed too in that time, as I went from scrawny to round... >.<

I recently visited the Venice airport and discovered what must have been the architects inspiration for the public realm at The Well. I believe this was completed in 2002. Didn't get a great photo myself but these are from Wikipedia and the airport website:

Great observation, similar lattice pattern. Love the skylight feel at the Well

Wellington Market seems to be a hit. Been there many times and noticed it was always busy. The opening of Waterworks nearby didn't appear to hurt the number of visitors.
I went early on and it was slammed, overpriced, etc.

Has the hype and crowding died down? It's a nice space, but only enjoyable if it is not a 30 minute wait to get a $20 sandwich.

When the place is still busy 3 months after its opening, I’m not sure you can call it a hype. I agree that some of the offerings are overpriced, although I don’t think the merchants price their products any higher than at their other outlets (the ones that I frequent anyway, like Gus Tacos). I guess despite the constant chatters about inflation , people are still willing to spend money on eating out. Look at the recent restaurant openings on the higher end - Aera, Mott 32, Nobu etc - $70 for a glass of cocktail anyone?
