The Meadoway, 200ha

I rode the Meadoway this morning, picking up the trail at McCowan and Lawrence, through to Bermondsey and then on to the East Don Trail.

The only mowed section started at Pharmacy and ran west to about a third of the way to Victoria Park.

Finally, Google Maps shows the Highland Creek to Neilson and Military Trail to Morningside stretches of The Meadoway! Still shows a gap on Scarborough Golf Club Road, though new cycle tracks are in the process of being built from Ellesmere to Lawrence which should address that bit.

Sweet! Is that a gravel layer between Marcos and Midland or is that actual asphalt?

Thanks. Even so, it does look on track to being done this year. The question remains how soon that bridge over the Stouffville GO corridor can be put in place. Slowly, but surely, the entire Meadoway is coming together.

I haven't spoken to Meadoway staff recently, but last I heard the Stouffville crossing wasn't even on the horizon.

The initial Weston donation was meant to encourage them (TRCA) to leverage that money to get other donations. Instead, they've been reliant on some City money, a smattering of senior gov't grants..........and the original donation.

They should have hired a top tier fundraiser.

Just got a heads up from Tom on Strava this morning that The Meadoway from Marcos to Midland has now been paved! Here's a snip from the video he shared.

Some capital dollars set to go to improving the Meadoway near Brimorton Rd, with additional naturalization (planted meadow habitat) and rest areas and benches.

This via a Member Motion to next week's Council meeting:
