The Bay Queen St. Restoration?

The Bay Queen Street "screens"

Wow, I haven't seen those screens! How making the layout a bit less cluttered, like they've done with the Concourse level (or Yorkdale's store).

I can't seen any international department stores (except US maybe) coming here. Besides NY, I can't think of a market that it's been tried (and failed). NY had Galeries Lafayette, and a couple of Japanese department stores.

I love the look. It almost looks like how they do things in Ginza

HBC has "historic galleries" in its Montreal and Victoria stores (see here). For a time, the website listed a Toronto gallery "opening soon", but the reference has since been removed. Although I think HBC can use its heritage to commercial advantage, I would think that a museum would be pretty far down its list of priorities at this point.

Two years ago, when the Bay/Simpsons store was in Doors Open, they did a great temporary historic display of the store's history in the old Thompson gallery space. Lots of fun old Simpsons stuff.
