This last weekend I went to the Textile Museum of Canada. I'd always meant to drop by this place and Saturday's rain meant that being indoors was optimal. I was the only person the whole time there, but it's their 30th anniversary and they have an exhibit of thirty different "stories" each based on a different, randomnly chosen, theme, with textiles as the focus of the story. Themes were things like Red, Love, Dragons, Tsunami, India, etc. I really recommend going to this ($10) because I thought was really charmingly executed. I really enjoyed it, and the fabrics on display to illustrate the themes were very lovely.
You also get the odd feeling of being in a museum, completely alone. They have a lighting system that clicks on once you've fully entered a room, so you can stand there in the gloom for a moment and feel like an intruder.
