The story was that Leonard Poole was walking dowtown and just wanted to use up a few rolls back in 1970ish. Most of his shots were Yonge/College and Yonge/Bloor
What on earth *was* The Market? Talk about a retail something that made a visual splash, then disappeared into the ether...
Interesting shots of circa-1970 femininity--also worth noting: *two* Evangeline shops (around the 2 Carlton Laura Secord, and next door to Stollerys), and a reminder that when Starbucks took over the Yonge + College CIBC location, the "Gothic" sloped sills were lopped off.
And, yeah, again, the successive vertical "HYDRO" and "ODEON" lettering looking east on Carlton.
Interesting shots of circa-1970 femininity
I haven't been yet, but there's an exhibition of photographs by Harry Joy at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre, at the corner of Spadina and Bloor, that looks interesting:

This is a random photo I think might be in East York. I have thousands of photos and I know every one except this one. Not that I am obsessive or anything but it keeps me awake at nights. Have fun google streetview addicts.
Wow, some of these should be available in print.
This one makes me wonder where those guys are now.
And this guy with the lambchops looks like my grade seven shop teacher.
