There isn’t an overall thread for smaller stuff in a city I consider a bit of a Toronto neighbourhood. (Ducks as stuff is thrown!) Anyways there is a plan to build a cricket pitch along the Avon beside the Festival Theatre in Lower Queens Park. One of dozens of new ones popping up in Canada.

Also the hotel at the corner of Ontario and Waterloo is being converted into a Marriot. And because I stayed there last year and chatted with the owner I know that the parking lot behind and to the east of the building is included and can easily handle development. 🤔

Looks small to be a theatre...
It is a black box theatre with 60, just the size that is needed for smaller groups. This is one of several examples of heritage buildings being repurposed in Stratford. The other recent one is Knox Presbyterian Church becoming an all purpose venue especially for classical music.

Posting these because it is going to become a bit of an iconic image for Stratford. Taken from IG today.

Interesting! So much possibility for this beautiful structure and surrounding land. I wonder if there is a need for a formal teaching facility for the Festival?! And with Ron Sexsmith and Loreena McKinnett both locals maybe a music school? Waterloo University?

I would love to see what Libeskind could do here?
