Stay behind the white line

Hello!

Maybe a strange question, but still...
I was in Toronto, in 2009 and had a ride on a bus. There is an inscription near the driver (on the front wall of the bus - it is on the right from you when you just entered the front door), and a white line on the floor. The inscription tells the passengers that if anyone is standing between the white line and the door, the driver is prohibited to start motion of the bus. (Something like the federal law restricts the driver... I do not remember exactly what it goes like...)

Can anybody help me to find the exact text of that inscription?

And also, what is written on a little plate on the wall - "let the seat" or "yield the seat"? Or maybe I'm mistaken?

Going from memory... The white line thing is a combination of a: danger of passenger falling down stairs and out door and/or b: driver distraction with passengers so close and blocking sightlines. The yield the seat is a reminder to give up seats near the doors to elderly, disabled, or pregnant passengers.

Thank you. That's absolutely great! I've been trying to remember this for a year!

I also saw some plates on the wall, rather than on the window. They were similar to those above, but a bit different.
And the iscription was like "let the seat" or yield the seat"?

Have you seen anyting of the kind?
