Throughout February UrbanToronto is featuring a special State of Construction editorial series to explore all the critical issues of construction across our region.

Construction is at the centre of many of the Greater Golden Horseshoe's most pressing challenges: housing delivery, transit expansion, and major civic projects all rely on an industry facing cost pressures and high expectations around speed, safety, and sustainability. Implications reach well beyond individual sites, so February on UrbanToronto is State of Construction month, with dedicated editorial examining the forces shaping how we build. 

State of Construction articles will explore how practices are adapting to today's pressures through a mix of industry features that will unpack how construction is evolving and why it matters, while Explainer articles will cover the FAQs of the construction process, from demolition and excavation to new structural systems, with looks at construction management and subcontracting.
